It's done!
Freitag, 23. Februar 2007, 21:17
I just finished the third rewrite of my dear little movie project "Gaijin".
It all went rather quickly but, honestly, I didn't really expect anything else. During the first two rewrites, fairly dramatic changes happened but this last editing session was mostly about tiny details, getting everything a little more concise than it used to be and shaping things up for publication.
Yeah, publication... Of course it's going to be in the hands of the cast and crew first but once it's done filming, I plan to offer both the movie and the script (possibly the entire celtx project) for downloading.
Anyway, uploading things right now and about to send e-mails out to the people currently involved.
Exciting times.

In the face of the world [Updated]
Sonntag, 08. Oktober 2006, 18:04
I'm getting on. I really doubted this for a while but an absence of a couple of months can actually really benefit a project.
On the "Static"-page you'll find a project called "Doors". This is only a working title and it has been called that for over two years now, first in my head, then in first drafts on paper and on the screen and then, finally, as a screenplay.
Terje had an important influence on the project as, after quickly getting what it was all about, he wrote a couple of scenes and also made me realize what end the story truly needed.
Now, so many months later, I'm rewriting the whole thing, not because it's bad, not because it sucks, but because I want to try working this way. The script will receive three rewrites before I deem it complete and I'm currently in the middle of the second one.
I'm now using celtx, an open source script writing solution and I'm really getting used to it. The transition also forces me to go over every scene, every paragraph and every word again ? a rewrite in the truest meaning of the word.
But it's progressing, now that I'm on holiday, and I really like the direction it's taking. It's all getting more compact, more integrated and now that I've finally found a title (which will be announced as soon as this second rewrite is complete), there's nothing in the way of making the movie. Well, time probably is but that's just a minor annoyance, isn't it? ;o)
So, off to writing, thanks for staying tuned.
[Update:] The second rewrite is done and accordingly, the Static page has been updated.

Two done, more to go
Sonntag, 11. Dezember 2005, 20:24
We just had the premiere of the two movies "Die Wahrheit" and "Nacht voller Angst".
Almost everything went flawlessly - except for some minor color problems with our beamer. Still, everything was really amazing, especially the reaction we got from the audience.
Now, back to scriptwriting ;o)
